    Cornell University: Courses in Mycology & Plant Pathology


    STAMETS SEMINARS

    These offer a series of intensive, hands-on courses in the art and science of mushroom cultivation. These seminars are conducted personally by Paul Stamets, founder of Fungi Perfecti, and author of Growing Gourmet and Medicinal Mushrooms and co-author of The Mushroom Cultivator (both are required reading for the seminars). Tuition takes place in new laboratory facilities in Washington State and the subjects covered include tissue culture, spawn generation technique, substrate preparation, inoculation techniques and strategies for maximizing yields. Each participant receives 7 select mushroom strains for their personal use (Master's Class participants receive 20 cultures). Registration must be confirmed via phone two weeks prior to seminar. Three basic and one advanced seminar are conducted each year.
