Gorse heath/bracken mosaic covers less than 0.1% of NI (888 ha), (Table below). It is a largely upland habitat (0.1%) mainly in the Mourne AONB (0.6%) and Slieve Gullion (0.5%).

There was a net overall 34% decrease in the area of Gorse heath/bracken mosaic in NI (-466 ha), largely due to a 61% decrease (581 ha) in the Mourne AONB.
