The Institute of Nursing and Health Research
First Annual Research Week 2012
The Institute was delighted to hold its first ever 'research week' recently to profile and develop the Institute’s work. For the first time, our visiting professors from all over the world came together to give master classes, seminars and workshops, at the University’s Jordanstown campus. They focused on our main centre themes:
- Managing Chronic Illness
- Person-Centred Practice
- Maternal, Fetal and Infant Research
- Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
- Mental Health
- Educational and Professional Issues
Our distinguished visiting speakers include: Prof Mi Ja Kim, Prof Mike Clarke, Prof Domhnall MacAuley, Prof Debra Moser, Prof Ruth Northway, Prof Jan Dewing, Prof Angie Titchen, Dr Nicola Armstrong, Prof Val Wilson, Dr Janice Bailie, Prof Soo Downe and Prof Jo Rycroft-Malone.
Researchers from across the university and colleagues in health and social care services joined us in seminars, conferences and master classes alongside partners from across healthcare in sharing knowledge, expertise and networks. The week has been a resounding success and positively reviewed by all who participated, and so will become an annual part of the Institute calendar.
