EUROCATThe role of the Centre for Maternal, Fetal and Infant Research, 1 of the 4 research centres of the INR, in co-ordinating a European network of registries for the surveillance of congenital anomalities (EUROCAT) has been featured in the Irish Times. Prof McCormack, Head of the Institute stated: 'I am very pleased that the EUROCAT study has been featured in the wider media. EUROCAT currently surveys more than 1.7 million births per year across 21 countries, and this data is analysed here at Ulster.' The Institute of Nursing Research has launched an important new initiative to support research in nursing. It had created a doctoral research fund up to the value of £10,000 p.a. to enable academic staff in the School of Nursing to ‘get started’ with their PhDs or progress existing PhDs towards successful completion. more>>

Building on Links with Universities in Taiwan - June 2011
The School of Nursing and the Institute of Nursing Research at Ulster have enjoyed a long and productive relationship with researchers at a number of Universities in Taiwan. This relationship was reinforced recently by the invitation by the Taiwan Nurses Association (TNA) to Professor Kader Parahoo to conduct writing skills workshops at four universities in Taiwan. more>>
